Turkey Turkey Turkey!
Oh my goodness! Guess what I just found out? I can finally eat turkey again! YAY! Chicken is still out though. Ever since I found out that turkey doesn't make me sick anymore I have been craving turkey and mayo sandwiches. I could eat them every meal if I didn't mind all the weight I would gain. This couldn't have come at a better time since Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Gobble Gobble!

Doctor Appt. Update
I went to the doctor yesterday and finally met with Dr. Tucker for the first time. It was a quick visit. It was the first time my belly was measured. No ultrasound this visit....she just checked the heartbeat and said he sounds great. She talked about the AFP results and said that she agrees with Dr. Maher and believes it to be a false positive. She said there would have been signs in the ultrasound and they were perfectly normal. So I'm not gonna worry about it.....nice to know that two high risk doctors agree that its a false positive. They gave me the glucose orange drink to take while on my way to my next visit with them. I have to chug it within 5 minutes and have to be tested within an hour of drinking it. They said it tastes horrible and I'm not allowed to drink water or anything afterwards.
When I was getting checked in the nurse asked me what I was having and I told her a boy. She asked what we were gonna name him so I said Drake and she said "Oh...thats my sons name..Jake". Hahahahahhaha I knew if we went with Drake it would get mixed up with Jake and she don't even know my nephew Jake. hahahaha. We have also been thinking about Gavin...I brought the name up a while back and Ben said no but then he called me the other day from work and said he is liking the name Gavin now because he looked up the origin and its a medieval name. He is so crazy! hahaha Feel free to put some names up for us to look over!

More Nausea Woes
I can't believe it...I thought now that I'm in my 2nd trimester that I wouldn't have to deal with being so nauseous all the time but its BACK! I've also been extremely tired and fatigued. Its hard to catch me awake these days. The baby is moving a lot and I can't wait to see him. My next appt. with my other doctor is August 26th.

Doctor Update
Today was my doctor's appt. with Dr. Maher. Before I went inside I talked to my other doctor's office over the phone and they said my genetic testing results came back (AFP test) and it was positive. She said that Dr. Maher would tell me more. So I'm like freaking out thinking all kinds of things and they took me into ultrasound which seemed to take longer than usual. She had me almost standing on my head trying to find his little pee pee and finally right before she was about to give up she got a picture of it with a vaginal scan. He is positioned head up and feet down. She said that he was the most stubbornest baby she has ever seen. Just like his mommy and daddy haha!
After all that I was hoping I wouldn't have to wait too long to see the doctor but I was wrong. I sat in the examining room for over an hour stressing out. He finally came in and put my worries aside. He said that they test 4 hormones in the AFP and that two of my hormones came back in the normal range and the other two were slightly lower than adverage. He said if they were on the higher side then that would indicate down's syndrome and that would be harder to determine by ultrasound because the baby looks almost normal. Mine were slightly lower than norm so that would indicate trisomy 18. He told me not to worry because he thinks its a false positive which happens a lot. He said my levels weren't that far off the norm and my ultrasounds show that the baby is growing normally and there are no horrible defects that almost always present with trisomy 18. He said there is a 3% chance that the baby would have it and not have any signs of it in ultrasounds. He also said that in all his years of practice that with my levels and how the ultrasound looks its always a false positive. He said he isn't worried about it and doesn't think I need an amniocentesis (where they stick a needle in your belly to draw amnio fluid for actually diagnosing the disorder). He really made me feel better about the results showing me bell curves and where my levels are on the curve. He said we will continue to monitor the growing of the baby and everything will be fine. My next appt for him is Sept. 8th at 12:30. We are gonna stay positive and pray for the best.

Baby on the Move!
From the first time I started to feel the baby move it was on my lower right side. The ultrasound techs said that the baby was transverse with the head on my left and feet on the right. In the last couple of weeks I started feeling the baby move all the time...not just at night. I loved it! Its a constant reminder that we are gonna have a baby in the house soon. But for a few days I wasn't able to feel the baby at all and was getting worried. I know why now. The baby has changed position for the first time. For the past 2 days I started feeling the kicking towards my belly button. Feeling the baby moving never gets old and I love feeling him all the time now. It makes the pregnancy more real being able to feel the baby instead of just getting pictures of him. Speaking of more pics....my next doctors appt. is August 11th with Dr. Maher....Tuesday!

Setting up the Crib
Yesterday we went and picked up our crib. Ben emptied out the baby's room and put the crib together today. It took hours but it looks great. I keep going in there looking at it in anticipation of our little boy. It makes us want to start painting and getting it all ready for the baby. We are thinking about painting the bottom half green and the top blue to give it more of a forest look. We plan on putting some trees and the animal wall appliques on the wall along with some little odds and ends I'll talk about later.
